GRID FREE SUPPLY
Warranty Policy
Effective Date: February 11, 2026
1. Manufacturer’s Warranty
All products sold by Grid Free Supply are backed by the manufacturer’s warranty. Grid Free Supply does not provide its own product warranty. Specific coverage details, such as duration and terms, vary by product and brand. Please refer to the product manual or packaging for exact warranty information.
If you’re unsure about your product’s warranty coverage, contact our support team at support@gridfreesupply.com or call (973) 577-9094 and we’ll connect you with the appropriate manufacturer warranty details.
1.1 Common Warranty Periods by Product Category
While warranty terms vary by manufacturer, the following are typical coverage periods for the product categories we carry:
• Solar Panels: 10–25 years (performance warranty); 5–12 years (product/materials warranty).
• Inverters and Charge Controllers: 5–10 years.
• Battery Systems: 5–10 years (varies by chemistry and manufacturer).
• LED Grow Lights: 3–5 years.
• Hydroponic Systems and Equipment: 1–3 years.
• Water Purification and Filtration Systems: 1–5 years (housing and components); filters and membranes are consumables and typically not covered.
• Climate Control Equipment: 1–3 years.
• Nutrient Dosing and Automation Controllers: 1–2 years.
These are general estimates only. Always confirm the specific warranty for your product by reviewing the manufacturer’s documentation or contacting us.
2. Product Quality — Grid Free Supply Guarantee
Your satisfaction matters to us. Separate from the manufacturer’s warranty, Grid Free Supply guarantees that every product you receive will arrive in new, undamaged condition and match the item you ordered. If your item arrives defective, damaged, or is not what you ordered, we offer a full 100% refund or replacement at no cost to you.
2.1 For Standard Shipments (USPS, UPS, FedEx)
• Inspect the product upon delivery.
• If you notice damage, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of both the packaging and the product.
• Email photos and your order number to support@gridfreesupply.com so we can expedite your replacement or refund.
2.2 For LTL Freight Deliveries (Large/Heavy Items)
Freight shipments require extra attention at the time of delivery:
• Inspect Before Signing: Visually inspect all packaging before signing the delivery receipt. Open cartons if possible to check contents.
• Note Any Damage: If any damage is visible — even just to the box or pallet — note it clearly on the delivery receipt before signing.
• Suspect Damage: If you cannot fully inspect the shipment at the time of delivery, write “subject to inspection” or “suspect damage” on the delivery receipt.
• Report Promptly: Email photos of the damage to support@gridfreesupply.com within 48 hours of delivery. Timely reporting is critical for freight damage claims.
Signing for a freight delivery without noting damage may limit our ability to file a claim with the carrier on your behalf. Please take a moment to inspect before signing.
3. Warranty Limitations & Exclusions
Manufacturer warranties typically cover defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. However, coverage is generally excluded for:
• Improper Installation: Damage resulting from installation not performed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, applicable building codes, or by a qualified professional.
• Misuse or Abuse: Damage caused by using the product outside its intended purpose, exceeding rated specifications, or failing to follow operating instructions.
• Unauthorized Modifications: Any alterations, modifications, or repairs performed by unauthorized parties.
• Normal Wear and Tear: Gradual deterioration from regular use over time.
• Environmental Damage: Damage caused by extreme weather, flooding, lightning strikes, power surges, or other conditions beyond normal operating environments, unless the product is specifically rated for those conditions.
• Consumable Parts: Items such as filters, membranes, bulbs, nutrients, growing media, fuses, and similar consumables are not covered unless specifically noted by the manufacturer.
• Cosmetic Damage: Scratches, dents, or cosmetic imperfections that do not affect product functionality.
For accurate coverage information, consult the product manual or reach out to us at support@gridfreesupply.com.
4. Filing a Warranty Claim
To initiate a warranty claim, please follow these steps:
Step 1: Email us at support@gridfreesupply.com with the subject line “Warranty Claim — [Your Order Number].”
Step 2: Include your proof of purchase (order number or order confirmation email).
Step 3: Provide a detailed description of the issue, including photos or videos if available.
Step 4: Our team will review your claim within 2–3 business days and may request additional documentation or troubleshooting steps.
Step 5: If approved, we will coordinate the next steps with the manufacturer — whether that’s a repair, replacement, or refund — based on the product’s warranty terms.
We act as your advocate in the warranty process. While the manufacturer ultimately determines warranty coverage, we’ll work on your behalf to ensure your claim is handled as quickly and smoothly as possible.
5. Shipping & Labor Responsibilities
Unless otherwise stated by the manufacturer:
• Return Shipping for Warranty Claims: Shipping the product back for evaluation is the customer’s responsibility unless the manufacturer provides a prepaid return label.
• Replacement Shipping: If a repair or replacement is approved under warranty, shipping of the new or repaired item is typically handled by the manufacturer at no charge.
• Labor and Installation Costs: Labor, installation, removal, and reinstallation costs are not covered under standard manufacturer warranties. This includes electrician fees, plumbing work, or any professional services required to remove and replace equipment.
• Diagnostic Costs: If a product is returned for warranty evaluation and the manufacturer determines the issue is not covered under warranty, the customer may be responsible for return shipping and any diagnostic fees charged by the manufacturer.
6. Warranty Claim Timelines
• Initial Review: 2–3 business days after receiving your claim.
• Manufacturer Coordination: Timelines vary by manufacturer, but most warranty claims are resolved within 2–4 weeks.
• Expedited Resolution: For products that are critical to your operation (e.g., a failed inverter on an off-grid system), let us know and we’ll do everything we can to expedite the process.
7. Transferring Your Warranty
Most manufacturer warranties are non-transferable and apply only to the original purchaser from an authorized retailer. If you purchased a product from Grid Free Supply and later sell or transfer it to another party, the warranty may not transfer with it.
For potential exceptions or extended warranty options, please review your product’s documentation or contact our support team.
8. Extended Warranty Options
Some manufacturers offer extended warranty plans that can be purchased at the time of your original order or within a specified window after purchase. If you’re interested in extended coverage for a specific product, contact us at support@gridfreesupply.com and we’ll let you know what options are available from the manufacturer.
9. Disclaimers & Legal Limitations
• Grid Free Supply acts as an authorized retailer and facilitator of manufacturer warranties. We are not the warrantor of the products we sell.
• This warranty information represents our understanding of typical manufacturer warranty terms and is provided for general guidance. The manufacturer’s actual warranty documentation governs all warranty claims.
• Grid Free Supply disclaims liability for any incidental or consequential damages arising from product use or inability to use the product, including but not limited to lost crops, spoiled goods, property damage, or loss of power.
• Some jurisdictions may not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so these exclusions may not apply to you.
• Nothing in this Warranty Policy affects your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws, including those of the State of New Jersey and the United States.
